houston, texas - my life in between

okay, amazing and awesome elf dancing aside — you had NO idea i was that talented… did you?

my girlies. the loves of my life. the reasons i wake up at the crack of dawn. the reasons i stay up (too) late to get work done. they are the reasons my heart beats.

i can’t possibly imagine my life without jade and aja. it kills me to know that they are just going to grow up much too quickly then i expect.

no cards this year. it just didn’t happen. but fret not dear friends and family… you’ll soon find one of these in a mailbox near you.

ETA. it’s my mom’s last day here so i just unloaded all her camera’s images (a sweet canon g10 btw) onto my computer and she got some cute ones of me shooting the girlies:

showing them how cute they are. (i however look like i rolled out of bed) ;)

abby & tom – dallas, texas

heartfelt and genuine are two words that i could easily use to summarize this entire wedding. with every detail from the individual bouquets of flowers to their unique vow exchange, abby and tom planned each element of their wedding, and with that stood some significant meaning in each and every facet. beyond that abby and tom have such a great spirit between the two of them- they are match made in heaven with their charm and amazing senses of humor.
abby and tom, your gratitude for your friends, family, and the relationships that surround you is inspiring. thank you for your leap of faith- i enjoyed every minute. and as you know- i wouldn’t have wanted to miss a minute of your special day.

a huge thank you to dallas photographer alison wingrove for being my right hand gal. you know my thoughts- thank you thank you thank you.

Funny how life sometimes has it’s own plans.

    It’s been a while friends. I know.

I appreciate those who have emailed me to ask what the heck is up with my month long hiatus. I wish I could fib and say life has just been so busy I haven’t had a chance to blog for fun and exciting reasons… like a trip to Fiji -or- some other random month long tale filled with awesomeness.

Prior to the events that unfolded over these past weeks, I strategically planned months ahead to ensure a few weeks off in December. I wanted to enjoy getting into the holiday season with my children while having an open schedule to fulfill all the holiday orders and press print cards that are ordered in abundance at this time of year. I wanted to take time to slow down, recharge my creative batteries, rest a bit- and finish off my year with two highly anticipated weddings.

Funny how life sometimes has it’s own plans.

Truth be told, the last couple weeks (or month I should say), have proven to be one of my hardest times . A sucker punch in life that well, I guess I would like to just look back and call it a blessing in disguise.
As these next months continue, I’ll be posting more about what’s been going on. Perhaps finding the words and the right way to share is what I’m searching for.

All I can say now is I am feeling MUCH better, I’ve got answers and solutions, and I am excited to be back up to par to carry on with my regular shooting schedule… and life for that matter.

A HUGE thank you to my fellow photographers, friends, and of course family who have helped me, encouraged me, and offered their blessings.

So now dear friends, thank you for reading, watching, and checking in.

I’d like to welcome you back to your regularly scheduled program…

    xo, rebecca-linh

    Houston, Texas - Family Session

Though I look forward to all my sessions- I really was looking forward to this one. I was hopes “super ava” would appear as I was told of the mystical girl that has her own cape and “super ava” shirt… but all I got to see was the empty costume. The appearance of Ava in the flesh though was just as great. This little gal was just as cute as could be with such an amazing little spirit.

Thank you Cyndy for sending these lovely ladies my way. I adored my session with Catherine, Paula, and Ava and for ONCE I’m not complaining that it was hot and sticky! Quite the opposite, c-c-cold and almost freezing. But it was so nice to get them all warm and cozy (Ava permitting ;) ) together to catch some moments. Ava is quite the explorer so we had fun just chasing her around.

This folks, wraps up my last family session of 2008! :) What an awesome way to end it! Looking forward to some upcoming winter weddings and still have 2 weddings waiting to be featured… stay tuned!
