    dial up doesn’t count!

    Friday, February 29th, 2008

    Hi folks!

    Just checking in….  I know… it’s been a while!

Since Tuesday I have been from Houston to Sacramento to Orange County…. whew!  I have not had any internet connection. I say that even though I have had dial up access- but if you are a nerd like me you know very well that it just doesn’t count. :) Apparently my iphone is not wanting to send out e-mails as well so I have almost felt lost. Again , I am a total nerd. So please- if you have contacted me in the last week please know I will contact you really soon! The next couple days are filled with weddings and traveling back up to Northern CA so my online access will be limited. I am receiving all my messages via my iphone but responding will be within a few days. THANK YOU for your patience! I really do appreciate it!

    So why am I here??

I flew out for an AMAZING wedding that I am shooting tomorrow. I of course brought my girls out to CA since I am from here so if I can just paint a picture of me at the airport. Little 5′2″ me, pushing a double stroller one handed with my little Aja, carseat in seat number 2 (it’s actually a sit and stand if you know what those are so it is in the “stand” part”), my other hand rolling my camera gear, backpack bearing all thing necassary for traveling with two little ones (snacks, dvd players, etc), and then my Jade walking along side. If I only had a dollar for all the comments I overheard in the context of “Looks like you’ve got your hands full!” … Um yeah- thanks for pointing out the obvious eh?  ;)  Needless to say my little ones were ANGELS on the flight! Whew!

I have a ton of photos to update with~ so please stay tuned…. and subscribe to the RSS feed if you haven’t already so you won’t miss out on any of my CA trip.  I can’t believe how busy these next couple weeks are going to be! Taking it day by day and soaking up how amazing it is to be a photographer. I really can’t believe how amazing this is!

    Stay tuuuuuuned! :D

    PS. Happy Leap Year. :D

I’ve read the this same book to my daughter a million times… this is why dads are so cool . I have never, ever, once stuck my hand through the front! :D

Little Taison was a lucky man and scored two photo sessions! When photographing him at 3 days old, it was a wee bit difficult to get a whole family shot so I came back a week later to see what we could do. :D Taison was up~ and big sis Trinhity was busy doing/eating… “other things” ;) However we were able to score a few extra great photos so I wanted to share.

And Brian- I know how much you love me emasculating you…. but when you wear socks like this….

    01-hc.jpg

you make it pretty easy! :D HA!! You are such a good sport!

(wish you could see the look on the customers faces when three photographers pile out of the booth and started shooting them from all angles of the diner!!… (it was awesome!)

You know what is just as cool as the wedding day? The day after photo shoot. Laura and Will were sooooo relaxed. Tired from their exciting day before but totally in chill “we’re married” mode. I also loved to hear their commentary on the night before. They came decked out in their wedding attire and we met up at the super busy Avalon Diner.

I was super fortunate to meet the amazing Chriselda and second shoot for her at this couples Houston Wedding. We had a blast and it was awesome to meet and work with another photographer. Second shooting has been a ton of fun and I am looking forward to my upcoming OC wedding next week!

I’ve been doing this a lot lately:

All these photos are taken by the incredible bobbi+mike!!

    :D MY FAVORITE!!! :D

    love it!

    I LOVE HIM!!!!

For a while now, I have been wanting to book a photo session for just my husband Mike.

Sure I would really love to update our family photo- but the one thing Mike and I don’t have are photos with each other. Being parents, we of course have countless photos of our two precious girls and NONE of us. So this time it was for just us, next time the whole family. :D

If there is one photographer (or I guess in this case two) that I could choose for a session like this I would hands down request bobbi+mike. I posted here and here about how much I admire these guys before~ so I was SO SO SO excited when she mentioned she may be coming out to TX. (and not scared that I was some crazy photographer stalker)They came all the way out from Indiana last week for a “working vacation”—though I think there was very little vacationing going on because these two seriously worked their buns off!

To meet my industry favorites as well as have our photos taken by them was such an amazing experience. Aside from being disoriented being on the “other” side of the camera- our session rocked. It gave me true insight on how my clients feel as well as watching two amazing photographers work their magin.

Ying and Yang…Bobbi’s sweet, bubbly, and outgoing personality is completely balanced out by Mike’s laid-back chillness. They’re admiration for one another is just adorable- they are truly made for each other and I compliment them on how WELL they work together. They truly are a husband and wife team.

I SO can’t wait for next year! Trust me- you will have a TON of Houston inquiries next round! :D

For more awesomeness- CHECK OUT THEIR SUPER FABULOUS BLOG!

    my *new* promo shot!

…. And yes. Bobbi’s jokes are really HILARIOUS! :D

PS. Bobbi- it took me a day to realize it was “Dam” …. Not “Damn” – duh me! (You are soooooo stuck with me now!)

Bless RSS feeds- or the counter on Bobbi’s stats would have been sky high. :D I have been on the edge of my seat all week!!

I love their action shots that follow each blog post- so here is the version featuring us! :D I was made aware that I must be loved if Bobbi is laying in the mud:

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

    Houston, TX- Family Session

I met Cyndy about a year ago at a Houston Baby Wearing Meeting. As I had thoughts on holding a baby wearing photo shoot I asked if I could snap some shots of her little man in his ring sling. So of course I was super thrilled to be hired as her family photographer a year later! THANKS! Taylor has grown up tons since the last time I had seen him! Total little man~ and quite adventurous this boy is. We hit up the Museum district and had fun getting kicked of “art work” and dodging the security guard on our heels. We’re dangerous and rebellious like that. ;)

Though little Taylors feet did not make a photo appearance this time- he is the owner of the famous little toes in the rainbow babylegs on my gallery. Don’t know what I am talking about? Hit refresh a few times and you will see them on my blog header :)

    picture-2.jpg

I actually drove by this wall earlier in the week and totally thought of Cyndy’s upcoming session. This wall is SO reminded me her. Apparently I thought right as she is known as the “hippie” at work. :D

    LOVE IT!( I love hippies!)

    13-cs.jpg

    aaaaand… want to mention:

if you are a Baby Wearing mom (or dad)in the Houston area, please stay tuned… another Baby Wearing photo shoot(s) is in the works before it gets too hot!

If you would like to be on the e-mail list please contact me at 411@rebeccalinhrodgers.com and enter: “HBW photoshoot” as the subject line. -or- contact me via my contact form on my main website. Please enter the same “HBW photoshoot” in the message area as well as your general area in Houston.

Because Houston is so big, and well- I totally know what it like to travel with little ones so I will be doing a few shoots in various locations throughout Houston.

    Stay tuuuuned!

    Houston, TX- Wedding

Laura and Will– the cutest bride and groom! I was super fortunate to be able to second shoot for Chriselda, and amazing photographer based out of Amarillo, TX. She graciously let me cruise with she and Alison Wingrove and I have to say– I LOVE second shooting! All the fun– with a wee bit less stress. :D I had so much fun floating around and am really excited with my new found adventures in wedding photography. I never really thought I would go this route- but am totally HOOKED! HOOKED!!! It’s also fun to see how other photographer capture the same event~ it is really awesome to see an artists unique outlook.

Laura and Will just adore each other- for only knowing them for a few days it was completely obvious that they were meant for each other.

More photos on Chriselda’s blog as well as slideshow :)

    i was shot today…

    Saturday, February 16th, 2008

    as in…

I was shot today by my one of my most favorite photographer(s)!!! And folks- I have to say… PRICELESS!

You may have caught a previous post of mine introducing Bobbi and Mike- photographers out of Indiana that are super fun, high energy, and quite inspiring to me.

They traveled out to the great state of TX to take some photos of me and my super stud husband Mike. I knew what to expect but then had NO idea what to expect (if that make any sense?)! The session was totally amazing. Loved every minute/second/milli-second. Okay, well that isn’t totally true. There is something completely unnerving about being a photographer and being on the other side of the lens. There is a bit of anxious vulnerability- because well, I know what my photos look like and the end of a shoot. Immediately erased are the one-eyed-closed- blurry snerks-etc.– so I am hoping that all those of me they download will give them a good laugh- and then will be IMMEDIATELY deleted. (did you read that?? hint.hint. ;) ) But that said, putting all the nervous flutters aside, there is also this complete respect and trust that goes on. Whether I be another photographer or just another client- they just rock it out and are soooooo much fun to be around.

And lets just say we LUCKED out with the weather. From the downpours the night before- as well as the less then stellar forecast, we seemed to have this amazing window of beautiful overcast skies that produced no rain for 2 glorious hours.

    I can’t wait…

okay, you may officially start stalking their blog!

and I so wish I had a photo of all of us. The irony in being a photographer sometimes!!

    Houston, TX - Family Session

    Kelly- Lance- Harrison

Just an adorable family! What else can I say? The photos prove it…

Little Harrison was such a treat. Not one fuss at all- just chilled, smiled, sat…. couldn’t ask for a more perfect little man! He totally just went with the flow and our shoot just seemed to flow. Have to say this has one of my favorite session this far- it was awesome that these guys were just so comfortable being on the other side of the camera. So much fun.
