    Houston, Texas - Newborn Session

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Okay, so I *should* be posting Christmas photos– but I couldn’t resist! :)

I met mom Natalie and Baby Zachary when he was just a hair over two weeks old. This little guy was so quiet- I don’t think there was even one cry during our photo shoot. His mom and dad are super lucky, as he was quite the sleeper. (Hope he still sleeping great for you!) I love shooting newborns- there is just something so special about getting to be a part of documenting a new life. It is so touching to watch a new mother absolutely intrigued by her little baby.

Pregnant? Contact me now so we can set up a session around your due date. :)

Had to sneak in another cute little foot photo! :)

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!!

Christmas Eve has a special place in my heart. In my book- it’s better than Christmas itself. This year was pretty low-key– which was great considering half my family is shakin’ a pretty yucky cold! My husband Mike made an AMAZING dinner and we just hung out listening to our 4 year old daughter ask for the millionth time when is it going to be time to open her ONE present. This year she seemed to be completely humored in the word “poop”. My eye’s roll as I write. :) You could just listen in on her talking to herself saying, “poop” quietly, and then laughing hysterically. Then again, whispered... “poop” and a roar of laughter would follow. We ignored her, figuring we would just let her carry in finding humor in that one lonely word considering she wasn’t really directing it to anybody. Because, if you’re a parent you know, once you bring attention to those little annoyances… it’s all over. Though we did hope she would get bored quickly, she still- thinks the word is so funny. Jade totally got a hoot when she got the book “Everyone Poops”. Mike seriously thought it was the worst book ever. Ha ha. I dunno– I thought it was funny.

Just in case you don’t read “kid” - that is a Christmas tree, with a star on top. Those round things are ornaments, and the squigly lines read:

    “Dear Santa,

These are your cookies and milk. I made them especially for you. Hope you like them. They are really good.Thank you for bringing me presents- please don’t forget my Pokemon stuff. Love, Jade”

Guess what happens when I can’t decide *which photos* to put up in the blog? You get this many!! Come on- I just could not be decisive!!!

Little Trinhity is going to be a big sister soon…

When Huong and I weren’t making Brian our man slave and moving furniture, equipment, etc– we scheduled a little “Daddy Salon” Time:

    21_hc.jpg

Brian was actually quite good at the fingernail painting.

    22_hc.jpg

Then it was Trinhity’s turn! Though completely emasculating Brian, he was such a good sport about it!

    23_hc.jpg

Nail polish up to his knuckles- we had to put a humorous twist on this popular pose:

(and if you don’t get it… too bad for you.) :)

    Houston, Texas - Family Session

What FUN this session was! You have seen Brian and Trinhity before on my ventures in Baby Wearing– but this time I had the honor of shooting the whole family! I LOVE THIS FAMILY! Trinhity is the princess and she knows it– and quite honestly, her parents revolve their worlds around her and it is so awesome to see how much they love their daughter. I can’t wait to meet soon to be little brother. (I get to be little man’s his first photographer!!)

Though rained out for two weeks, it made the anticipation for this shoot all that much more fun.

And my fascinations with ruffle bloomers– well… I guess when I was a baby girl, I apparently would go to strangers and ask if they wanted to see my ruffled underwear?? And then, regardless if their response I proceeded completely embarrassing my mom. Thankfully I became much more modest as I got older! :)

And Huong, I know how much you LOVE the belly photo! ;) As a nod to my non-cheesy approach to maternity photos! This could quite possibly be the only time you see this pose. :)

Thank you for visiting. If you would like to schedule a session for 2008 please contact me soon- spaces are filling up quickly!

You wouldn’t believe it was a cold and windy day in Houston with the way this photo session turned out! We dodged the wind and stuck close to walls, but it really seemed to work with these three! This is my third time photographing Dane- I had the privilege of meeting him for his newborn photos, got to see how cute he became at 7 months, and now a few weeks before his 1st birthday he is just keeps getting cuter. And I swear his eyes are just getting bluer! At this photo session though, I did the whole family so you can see where this charming little man gets his good looks!

I was also excited that this was the first session that I shot 100% manual.  I felt pretty accomplished- as well as excited at the results! Thanks guys- can’t wait to see your Christmas cards!
