 i’ve been a fan of red doors lately.

christi = sweet, smart, GORGEOUS!

i (heart) the sun.

christi wanted to do a “day after” session as well as bridals. we made it happen. and you know what? i think the idea is GENIUS. bridals *after* the wedding. you (BRIDES) don’t have to worry about getting your dress dirty which = WAY MORE FUN + MORE FUN LOCATIONS (since funner isn’t really a word but would be more funner to say).

traditional doesn’t have to be blah or boring. (ps. christi– you’re hot!)

seriously? the hardest part about this session was narrowing down the images to not too many to hand over! christi, josh, mrs. gilbert, and i had FUN as we stomped around richmond (were Christi grew up) for the “day after” session. and when i say “day after” i don’t really mean the day right after the wedding. usually my couples tend to opt for a few weeks after their wedding once they’ve enjoyed their honeymoon and settled. i guess it could be called the “newlywed” session- but, eh, pretending it’s like the day after your wedding to get some fun/amazing photos while you are in your wedding attire (minus the crazy time lines that we call our wedding) makes for such a fun photo session. seriously. i still have to say these hands down are my favorite sessions to shoot!

and it was a “t&a” wedding.

my BEST FRIEND of TWENTY SEVEN years (yes- 27!) got married. and no, i did not shoot her wedding- i happened to be the matron of honor. (and why does the word “matron” make me feel so dang old?)  honestly, if life allowed you the power to mutate and be two people at once i would have loved to have done both! and while that clearly isn’t possible- the next best thing was to be able to shoot a “day after” with them. let me just say- these two are TROOPERS. not only did they plan their exquisite wedding, get married,  and celebrate with their amazing families- they woke up at the crack of dawn so we could play photo session in pastures. (oh, and their brunch was immediately after our session!)

*T* & A — you DID it. and i am SO VERY VERY HAPPY FOR THE BOTH OF YOU! much love to my lifelong friends– past, present, and future.

i was super stoked when lindsay and jarrod chose stuart to be their videographer for this shoot- and well, he did an AMAZING job!!!

day after sessions are SO laid back. i love it!

i forgot to tell lindsay to bring another set of shoes for some orchard walking… she came in boots. how awesome is that?

i actually didn’t know how “country” lindsay and jarrod were until i heard the music at their wedding receptions. let’s just say i hit the nail right on the head for their location. (thank you studio563 for hooking me up.)

i bet the food was great when it was open.

this session is one of favorites by far for so many reasons. thank you lindsay and jarrod for being so amazing on the other side of the camera.
it was a joy to get to know you over the course of this year- i’m honored to be the one who got to document this special time in your lives.

PLEASE- All print orders for Holiday gifts need to be placed (and payed for) no later than midnight November 19th.

The *only* clients this does not apply to are any of my November sessions. (You will have a separate deadline given to you when you receive your online gallery.)

All order are accepted at anytime afterwards, but anything after November 19th will not be guaranteed for Holiday Delivery and will most likely be delivered early 2009.

Gift Cards for Sessions and Print Credit are available to purchase HERE . Deadline for Gift Credit is December 10th. The certificate can either be gift packaged by me and sent to the lucky recipient, or can be sent to you for delivery.

This is where I spend most of my days:

With the exception of my end of the year weddings, I have decided not to shoot in December. (The *only* exception will be for newborns 2 weeks and under)

I’d like to spend the least amount of time here in December. Please let that happen. Deadline on time. My girlies will thank you.

It’s a week shy of my website anniversary and I am so pleased to announce the relaunch of my website!

Going into redoing my site I had NO idea how much time it would take. Thank you to my dear logo designer Taz, who created my new logo (lovin’ the new colors!) and that cute little r-lr mark you see. The new branding really suits me and I am SO excited to put all her designs to use! Branding really is the tie that binds.

You also may notice the volume control to the right of the photo. Yes folks- I’ve added music! I know this is totally not a new concept, but if you know me you may know that I had huge dislike for music on websites. Really, only for the sake that other’s people music piped in from websites made random, nerve-jerking, remixes when clashed with/over my itunes. After much thought though, I’m over it and it makes me happy to tap my toes while looking at my images. (I also LOVE the chosen songs!) It was awesome to revisit my images from this last year, I can’t believe I had not updated my photos since last January! I’ll NEVER wait that long to update. This relaunch has been planned for months- and taken weeks to execute.

So, if you have met me over the last 8 months– you may see some familiar faces sprinkled throughout the site.
