i drive by this location almost every day hoping for one day to shoot here.

julie + josh // engagement session
cypress, texas
let’s see- where to begin? this is julie and josh — and they’re getting MARRIED! this saturday to be exact. we (and i say we- i’m meaning my husband mike and i) couldn’t be more thrilled for these two. because josh and julie happen to be our across the street neighbors as well! so of course i couldn’t have been more flattered when julie asked if i could be their wedding photographer. um. YES!!! PLEASE!!!! i mean, fun memories of blowing stuff up 4th of july, garage sales, donuts in the driveway (shhhh, my coffee is *not* spiked with kaluha) and crawfish boils that turn into late night gatherings just aren’t t enough– i get to witness and lock memories into art of one of their most important days together. HONORED.
jules and josh- congrats!
ps.
julie. i remember the first day we met in your driveway. you are SO beautiful.
merry everything.

“dear @rebeccalinh,
please post something. anything. and do it soon.
love, @i’llembarrassthemifimention”
if you are a photographer and are on twitter, go and follow: @blogstomp as they are close to launching really big things.
as i get questions from aspiring photographers, one question is how i consistently “frame” my images. i like to reply as i brain-numbingly wrote an action and had to test it over and over to “get it right”… however the amazing guys over at Blog Stomp are creating the EASIEST to use actions to get your amazing images logo’d and up on your blog. lately my action has been doing some not so lovely things (image below) so i’m stoked that Blog Stomp let me do a test drive with my image above. thanks guys!!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009during my month of june off it’s a quest of mine to finally get caught up on personal photos that have been hanging out on my hard drive. in other words, they haven’t passed go or collected $200. sadly, they get taken, downloaded… and then crickets chirping. this has had a negative affect on my “personal” blog… and well, that makes parents and friends cranky. so i’ve been trucking through and finding some fun stuff. i seriously have 2 years of images that desperately need to be printed. sweet irony right?
aja told me this photo is “scary”.
i’m not going to lie. that’s 100% authentic dust on my lens.
have a lovely week!
off the grid
Thursday, May 28th, 2009
I’m back on the blog grid. Thanks for waiting.
I don’t really want to dwell on why I haven’t been posting which is why I didn’t want to leave a specific post prior to leaving.
What I can say is that I feel SO much better. After months of progressively feeling worse- I can FINALLY say I feel good. I can’t even begin to describe what a relief that is.
I do have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all my family, friends, and blog readers who have wished me blessings and positive thoughts during this last month. (and especially those who were subjected to my whining!)
Recovery was SO sweet with flowers, chapsticks, jammies, magazines, and berripop deliveries I can’t even describe how much it meant to me! Bless my iPhone- I enjoyed being entertained by my Internet homies while bed-ridden/housebound. Thank you for keeping me sane and linked to the outside world. (And yes, I DO realize how incredibly nerdy that all sounded- whatever.)
Knowing the suggested rate of recovery time was 4-6 weeks (today marks 4 weeks exactly) I decided prior to all this I would be taking all of May and June off to recoup, relax, and reorganize. June also marks Jade’s first summer- and heck—I just want to hang out with my kids!! The silver lining to my surgery is that I get the opportunity to take it easy for bit, enjoy my family, and not be stuck to my computer. (at least for work anyway
) I’ll still be posting here some weddings prior to my break, images I’ve created while working with other photographers, and perhaps some random stuff here and there.
Although I won’t be shooting until July, I will still be around for album and print orders, as well as booking new clients. Please check the rebecca-linhrodgers.com for availability or email info@rebeccalinhrodgers.com
thanks again friends. xoxo
some days i just amaze myself.

i somehow became notoriously bad at cooking once i met my husband. i became instantly intimidated on simple “let me help” tasks like cutting carrots. because now cutting carrots with a huge henckel was much scarier.
i’m not horrendous (well, i guess that really depends on the entree) but basic baking, assembling, and mixing can usually be conquered. however, i am also known to burn microwave burritos so for time sake you may just have to take my word for it.
my one culinary goal though (if i have to make one) is to make sure my kids *think* their mom can cook. whatever illusion i’ve created has worked– but perhaps making pancakes all week can make one appear as betty crocker herself. anyway- true to form, i once again humor myself in the kitchen.
