sullivan and harrison = double trouble (watch out kelly- i can only imagine them in 10+ years!)
i very much *love* the image on the right.
the men in kelly’s life. she’s a lucky gal.
feels like we’re on holiday. (’cause it sounds so much hipper than vacation)
kelly- this one is probably my favorite for the year! it needs to be added to the wall!

they laugh a lot together.
this one is runner up.

hot mama!
jessica & chantha // maternity session
houston, texas
we had so much fun at this session. i don’t get to shoot maternity sessions as much as i’d like and jessica and chantha were such an awesome couple to work with. jessica made me a wee bit nervous– she tinkers around with photography herself, and well– it puts the pressure on a little bit. i’m even more excited to meet this sweet little baby girl! i’ll get to take thier photos a few more times this year so keep posted to the blog.
carolyn - chris - emilio

emilio is quick. and when i mean quick i mean FAST.
i love that carolyn and chris have been together half my life.
emilio is SUCH A SWEEEEET little guy.

i love that this image is such a reminder of how tiny 4 year olds are to the world.
and some solo of chris.
cypress, texas - maternity + family session
what a fun session. not only is (dr.
)carolyn a friend, she is also my neighbor 3 streets over. and she also has the same house as me. well, you know, (in cookie cutter suburbia land we have the same floor plans) so it always fun to go over to her house and see how they’ve laid out their land. i was so excited she called on me to take maternity / family photos — i don’t know if it’s just me, but shooting somebody you know adds larger amounts of pressure. but we had a LOT of fun sweating it out one early cypress morning. once we felt the a/c come out some building doors, we were sold on relocating INDOORS for the remaining part of our session which worked out perfect for everybody!
carolyn and chris are expecting baby number 2 next month which is coming up SO SOON! can’t wait to meet this little baby!!
kelly & belly
Thursday, February 12th, 2009first up: my favorite
kelly’s son harrison made a quick debut.
hello hot mama.
okay. maybe this is my favorite.
peace.
houston, texas - maternity session
i met kelly for the first time when she hired me to photograph a family session last year. to me, there is nothing more flattering when a past client calls to go about another session. she was eager to tell me a couple months ago that she was pregnant and waiting to get “bigger” to do a maternity session. kelly’s one request was to have NOT CHEESY maternity images. “what does one do with those?” she asked. i often ask myself the same question. kelly’s due later this month– can you even BELIEVE how freaking adorable she is!!! i was excited to see her son harrison and how much he’s grown over the course of this last year. and speaking of the course of this last year, i’m amazed at how much my style in post-processing images has changed since last year. (click the link above to see the difference.) kelly and i had so much fun playing around in town– and OH, the trust that this girl has in me. THANK YOU for braving those train tracks. (and putting on a show for the random onlookers!
)
so, i think we achieved more fun, less cheese, and certainly no gauze maternity images. look out for kelly and family a few times more this year. but for now, i eagerly await the call of when little baby boy is here.

I’d like to spend the least amount of time here in December. Please let that happen. Deadline on time.
My girlies will thank you.

Back in January I was asked by the Expectant Mother’s Guide if they could use one of my then recent maternity photos for one of their Fall ‘08 covers. I was thrilled and agreed- and it is so crazy that 10 (almost 11) crazy months have passed so quickly.
This was from a maternity session done of one of my dearest friend Janica. A few weeks later I had the honor of coming to her home and doing a newborn session with the little baby that was in her belly. (I also did a little slideshow.)
I’m so excited. I can’t wait to get the copies in the mail!
It’s been a while since I’ve done a maternity session- and I am overwhelmed with new ideas!
If you are pregnant and would like a fun, modern, no gauze, maternity session, please visit my website: rebeccalinhrodgers.com for more information. Maternity/Newborn and Baby’s First Year packages are also available.
finally folks!! my SITE RELAUCHED!
Thursday, August 14th, 2008
It’s a week shy of my website anniversary and I am so pleased to announce the relaunch of my website!
Going into redoing my site I had NO idea how much time it would take. Thank you to my dear logo designer Taz, who created my new logo (lovin’ the new colors!) and that cute little r-lr mark you see. The new branding really suits me and I am SO excited to put all her designs to use! Branding really is the tie that binds.
You also may notice the volume control to the right of the photo. Yes folks- I’ve added music! I know this is totally not a new concept, but if you know me you may know that I had huge dislike for music on websites. Really, only for the sake that other’s people music piped in from websites made random, nerve-jerking, remixes when clashed with/over my itunes. After much thought though, I’m over it and it makes me happy to tap my toes while looking at my images.
(I also LOVE the chosen songs!) It was awesome to revisit my images from this last year, I can’t believe I had not updated my photos since last January! I’ll NEVER wait that long to update. This relaunch has been planned for months- and taken weeks to execute.
So, if you have met me over the last 8 months– you may see some familiar faces sprinkled throughout the site.
Please go check out my relaunched website:

And there is more: Still to come this fall will be my gallery just devoted to wedding images. I am really excited to launch this after a year of collecting fun, fresh, and real life wedding images. Also a few bits and pieces of the blog to be changed. Stay tuned!
What an exciting first year to have. I can only imagine what will happen this next coming year. Thanks you clients, friends, family, and fellow photographers. for making this what it is. I’m in la-la-land and you have made it possible for me to be here. I am forever grateful!
xoxo, r-lr
little mancub
Tuesday, January 29th, 2008introducing:
Taison Khai
aka: mancub, or named by big sis “oh my, oh my, oh dinosaur”

such a good little sleeper!

my favorite!

i love wrinkly, flaky newborn skin!

Houston, Texas – Newborn Session
This little guy kept me on the edge of my seat… for a week!! Little Taison Khai was just hanging out after his due day while we just waited (and waited) for his arrival. I was so excited to one of the first to know of his debut into this world… I was alerted via text message, “ Showtime!…”
Taison is the youngest baby (besides my own) to work with. At only 3 days young he was quite ready for his close-up!
This is not the first time to photograph this lovely family—
You met daddy and new big sis Trinhity during one of my baby wearing photo shoots, and then the whole family a couple month ago for a family session.
More to come so please stay tuned….
*and I am reeeeaaally hoping this will be the last post on this blog!*
almost ready!!

My no-gauze approach to maternity photos!

Janica is just simply stunning!

Love that she was ever so willing to sit so close to the edge of the deck.

9 (10) months pregnant and adorable!

And this is from the first photo shoot back in October doing the Comfy Joey project.

Houston, Texas – Maternity Session
The room was filled with women of all ages, and the mountain of pink wrapping paper and bags where stacked mile high. Before the baby showering for Janica were to continue it was requested that everyone introduced herself. Many guest knew each other, but it such an interested way to discover how we were all linked to the lovely Janica.
My stomach literally dropped with the request… my answer would seem crazy!
The array of introductions from family members, childhood friends, and fellow members from her church… then last but not least… me. I almost got out of “confessing” how I came to know my newfound friend. “Go ahead and say it!” –demanded Janica knowing exactly where my lack of thought process was.
“My name is Rebecca-Linh… I met Janica on um…. the Internet.”
Perhaps the idea isn’t too crazy (at least the the Internet/forum savvy folks) whereas 10 years ago it may be a bit creepy. Out of all places, Janica (aka:juicifroot) and I (aka: rebelinh) crossed paths through an International Baby wearing Online Forum. From cross posts we could see we were in the same city- but nothing really past that. Then when I was in search for models for the Comfy Joey project I did last year- I contacted her immediately in hopes that she would be interested in showing off the new product line. She was enthusiastic to be a part of it-and there you have it. I got to spend two days shooting with Janica and her adorable son Parker- which turned into play dates with our kids, girl date night at my husband’s restaurant, and now baby showers. ?
I love this girl! She makes photography just toooo easy! Seriously though- there is something about Janica that is so enchanting. She is loved by many- and it is so easy to see why! I can’t wait to meet little “girlyfroot” in just a few short weeks. It will take her that long to sort out the large amount of adorable pink dresses she received at her shower!
Stay tuned…you get to meet the whole family soon.
