so seriously. location scouting prior to our session and what do i find? a concrete slab with a ton of RANDOM chairs. for reals? how can one just stumble upon a concept shoot?
it happened. and it was AAAAAWESOME.
folks, i am LOVIN’ my 2010 couples.
pleased to introduce katherine and mike.

here a chair, there a chair. everywhere a chair chair.

if you’re ever in a need for fajitas, tamales, and a frito pie (and sun flare… don’t forget the sun flare) - let me know and i’ll hook you up.

favorite.

this little cove was amazing. mainly because it was SO windy and it was a nice little break from getting hair whip lashed from the wind.

more flare? yes and please. (or please and thank you?)
and yes again, 100% authentic lens dust. (trust me, i don’t neglect my lenses…it was super windy that day!)

katherine has the cutest dimple. (just one ;) )

katherine & mike // engagement session
old town richmond, tx
first let me say- it was COLD and WINDY. so little miss katherine gets a trophy for being adorable despite our winter weather conditions.
katherine and mike are a fun couple with a great sense of humor! they’ve got a GREAT history– met in early elementary school, started dating at the end of high school, and continued their relationship long distance through college.
so after dating for 6 years, they finally live in the same city. love it.
katherine and mike– looking forward to this year together!
he watched us as if we were CRAZY. ah, if i could only read minds.

becky & toby // wedding
houston, texas // paraiso maravilla
sorry friends. i’ve been a bad blogger lately. sometimes every minute of every day gets consumed with all things “to do” whether it be business or life — and the first place to get neglected is my little internet apartment. (and my laundry
).
a long overdue wedding feature of one of my favorite couples of 2009 - becky and toby! you’ve seen this fun couple for their engagement session late last summer and becky’s smoking hot bridal session last fall. their wedding was held at paraiso maravilla, a very romantic venue here in houston, and their wedding was gorgeous! special thanks to my right hand gal janica boles for her assistance for the evening.

i know, i know,i know, how CUTE are they?!?!

this stair case was crazy narrow. holding on to my life here. (okay, not really, but we did have to be pretty careful)

it was 40 degrees out! brrrr.

tiffany is flippin’ GORGEOUS!

love the shoes, love the belt, love the hat– LOVE IT!

matt is such a good sport kind of fiance. he gets extra cool points for just going with the flow.

on my drive home i felt bad that i remembered we forgot to move the plants back. (but oh well!)

hands down- FAVORITE.

i don’t usually EVER play with lighting. but it was fun. maybe i’ll do it again.

tiffany & matt // engagement session
old richmond + sugar land , texas
i fell in love with tiffany the first time i met with she and her mother! our first session was canceled due to yucky wet weather, and while the sun didn’t come out to play with us on this session we had SO much fun. despite the cold weather, tiffany and matt brought out their game faces for this session and we got awesome results! thanks you two for being so awesome.they make SUCH a cute couple and this is one of many sessions with them– which makes me smile.
so get use to them- and stay posted.
and on a total random note- i can’t help but mention tiffany looks almost exactly like one of my old college roommates jenna- down to mannerism it’s just uncanny! i have to literally stop myself and not call her “jenna”. (hi old roomy if you’ve stopped by to see!) i’ll have to see if i can dig up a photo. it’s CRAZY. (and makes me miss those sandy santa barbara beaches!)

:) looking forward to meeting this one!

yep- just adorable and pregnant.

i love this one. my favorite.

they laugh a lot together.

this one is runner up.

jessica, you just made a lot of women say out loud, “that’s just not fair!’
hot mama!

jessica & chantha // maternity session
houston, texas
we had so much fun at this session. i don’t get to shoot maternity sessions as much as i’d like and jessica and chantha were such an awesome couple to work with. jessica made me a wee bit nervous– she tinkers around with photography herself, and well– it puts the pressure on a little bit. i’m even more excited to meet this sweet little baby girl! i’ll get to take thier photos a few more times this year so keep posted to the blog.

christi + josh = the “day after” session

and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. don’t believe me? keep scrolling down.

yep- A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! (i love my job!)

i’ve been a fan of red doors lately.

christi = sweet, smart, GORGEOUS!

i (heart) the sun.

christi wanted to do a “day after” session as well as bridals. we made it happen. and you know what? i think the idea is GENIUS. bridals *after* the wedding. you (BRIDES) don’t have to worry about getting your dress dirty which = WAY MORE FUN + MORE FUN LOCATIONS (since funner isn’t really a word but would be more funner to say).

traditional doesn’t have to be blah or boring.
(ps. christi– you’re hot!)

fav.

i only wish i shot their wedding!

christi + josh // “day after” session & bridal session
old richmond, texas
seriously? the hardest part about this session was narrowing down the images to not too many to hand over! christi, josh, mrs. gilbert, and i had FUN as we stomped around richmond (were Christi grew up) for the “day after” session. and when i say “day after” i don’t really mean the day right after the wedding. usually my couples tend to opt for a few weeks after their wedding once they’ve enjoyed their honeymoon and settled. i guess it could be called the “newlywed” session- but, eh, pretending it’s like the day after your wedding to get some fun/amazing photos while you are in your wedding attire (minus the crazy time lines that we call our wedding) makes for such a fun photo session. seriously. i still have to say these hands down are my favorite sessions to shoot!
christi and josh- thanks for letting me be a part of your extended newlywed bliss! xo, r-lr

if you know brett, your know how wonderfully animated she is.

christian + brett - wedding day
houston, texas
i have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know christian and brett this year! last spring i shot their engagement session so if you’d like to recap CLICK HERE. then in the fall brett worked it at her bridal session and we got some AMAZING images - CLICK HERE.
christian and brett’s wedding was on a gorgeous day here in houston. their wedding took place at st.michael’s catholic church where christian’s parents were married! they then had their guests shuttled to the magnolia hotel where they had an exciting cocktail reception full of delicious appetizers, fantastic music, and TONS of dancing. special shout out to my girl janica boles for being my right hand gal for the day!
funny story. i first questioned the wedding cake. from the front, it was gorgeous, however it seemed a little too traditional for this particular bride and groom. it was getting behind the cake i realized i knew this couple a little too well.
too awesome.

and what an awesome couple they are!

shannon is drop dead GORGEOUS.

my fav-fav-fffaaavvvooorrriiittteee!!!

or maybe this one is my favorite?

-> check them out<-

all i can say is, if babies are in the future— look at the pretty eyes it’s going to get!

shannon & normand
houston, texas - engagement session
can i not express how excited i am for shannon and normand’s wedding?!?! i’ve got a few months to wait, but these two were SO MUCH FUN to shoot with! talk about a great looking- good energy- fun to be around- fantastic couple! despite the slew of mosquito’s and me ankle deep in ants, i think this session was a huge success. i usually shoot a LOT of images, and with these two there wasn’t any exception. except at the end i struggled to narrow them down. they have SO MANY GREAT photos from this session i had a hard time choosing! get use to these two, i think you may see them more than once next year-
can’t wait!

little miss lauren was one of the first little girls i photographed in houston a few years ago.

lauren was 18 months old back when I first saw her, and now she’s an adorable 3 year old!

AND- little miss lauren is a BIG sister to little brother luke.

HOW SWEET!

little mr. luke was a sweet 2 weeks old.

total milk coma.

i’m holding my reign as: mrs. *most* kids like me. these two seemed to approve.

lauren and luke
houston texas// family session - newborn session
little lauren was one of the first kiddos i got to shoot here in houston only a few years ago during a babywearing session. i’d like to say she was one of the first posts on my old old old blog.
her eye’s are still super bright blue and she’s just an adorable big sister. little luke kept me on my toes at first, but then settled into some amazing newborn sleep and i got to click away. gotta love a session with incredibly cute kids!

ava picked flowers the ENTIRE session. i loved it!

a year later- ava is just SO sweet.

catherine - paula - ava
family session // houston, texas
perhaps you remember this darling family when they visited the blog last year. if not, refresh yourself by CLICKING HERE.
back in april, catherine emailed me to make sure they were “in” for the holiday season. thrilled to have returning clients, and to also see little ava a year later i was for sure “in”.
catherine and paula (aka: mom-mom and mom) told ava if she was a good girl she could get ANYTHING she wanted at target. what does a little gal do with such a proposal? she wanted 1 lunchable. how adorable is that?!? needless to say, ava earned her lunchable big time.perhaps a multi-pack she was THAT great.
ladies, i loved photographing you all for a 2nd time. we had a blast and i LOVE the images we got from this session!
xoxo
Beautiful as always! I LOVE the last pic of them laying on the table!!!! What a cute couple looks like this was a fun shoot =] xoxo
