“dear @rebeccalinh,
please post something. anything. and do it soon.
love, @i’llembarrassthemifimention”

if you are a photographer and are on twitter, go and follow: @blogstomp as they are close to launching really big things.
as i get questions from aspiring photographers, one question is how i consistently “frame” my images. i like to reply as i brain-numbingly wrote an action and had to test it over and over to “get it right”… however the amazing guys over at Blog Stomp are creating the EASIEST to use actions to get your amazing images logo’d and up on your blog. lately my action has been doing some not so lovely things (image below) so i’m stoked that Blog Stomp let me do a test drive with my image above. thanks guys!!

during my month of june off it’s a quest of mine to finally get caught up on personal photos that have been hanging out on my hard drive. in other words, they haven’t passed go or collected $200. sadly, they get taken, downloaded… and then crickets chirping. this has had a negative affect on my “personal” blog… and well, that makes parents and friends cranky. so i’ve been trucking through and finding some fun stuff. i seriously have 2 years of images that desperately need to be printed. sweet irony right?
aja told me this photo is “scary”.

i’m not going to lie. that’s 100% authentic dust on my lens.

have a lovely week!

i love this photo with alison’s father.

houston, texas - wedding
here are a few images i shot recently while working for my dear friend wedding photographer ashley k . alison and blaine will forever be known as the “jcrew” wedding. they had a elegant, low-key wedding at ouisie’s table in houston. they are also the guilty couple for introducing me to crave cupcakes.
most of these images however were shot at the hotel icon in downtown houston where the couple got ready.
this image makes me laugh– very texas.

I’m back on the blog grid. Thanks for waiting.
I don’t really want to dwell on why I haven’t been posting which is why I didn’t want to leave a specific post prior to leaving.
What I can say is that I feel SO much better. After months of progressively feeling worse- I can FINALLY say I feel good. I can’t even begin to describe what a relief that is.
I do have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all my family, friends, and blog readers who have wished me blessings and positive thoughts during this last month. (and especially those who were subjected to my whining!)
Recovery was SO sweet with flowers, chapsticks, jammies, magazines, and berripop deliveries I can’t even describe how much it meant to me! Bless my iPhone- I enjoyed being entertained by my Internet homies while bed-ridden/housebound. Thank you for keeping me sane and linked to the outside world. (And yes, I DO realize how incredibly nerdy that all sounded- whatever.)
Knowing the suggested rate of recovery time was 4-6 weeks (today marks 4 weeks exactly) I decided prior to all this I would be taking all of May and June off to recoup, relax, and reorganize. June also marks Jade’s first summer- and heck—I just want to hang out with my kids!! The silver lining to my surgery is that I get the opportunity to take it easy for bit, enjoy my family, and not be stuck to my computer. (at least for work anyway
) I’ll still be posting here some weddings prior to my break, images I’ve created while working with other photographers, and perhaps some random stuff here and there.
Although I won’t be shooting until July, I will still be around for album and print orders, as well as booking new clients. Please check the rebecca-linhrodgers.com for availability or email info@rebeccalinhrodgers.com
thanks again friends. xoxo

chester seriously has a fascination for being upside down. bungee jump instructor as a future occupation?

wanna play with my camera?

brenham, texas - family session
not only have i had the honor of shooting sarka and chester last summer, i’ve also had the incredible opportunity to photography tom and sarka’s business posey capital management (they are excited for a new website to launch soon). so i was excited when they asked if i would travel out to their brenham ranch. “think blue bonnets and cows.”, is how sarka described the area. i describe it as colorful, quiet, and GORGEOUS. in just under a year, chester has grown so much. it’s so awesome to revisit clients and see what’s been going on their world since the time we’ve seen each other last. and while i may not be able to survive the ranch for the mere fact that there isn’t any wifi (pathetic, aren’t i?), i do love the fact that sarka and tom made the executive decision of not having any phone, tv, or computers on their ranch. it’s a place to hang out with the family and relax. sounds awesome right?

sweet fancy nancy.

nancy and eric = super chill bride and groom.

nancy quote: ” i’m generally awkward.” (um, nope- i don’t think so!)

my favorite.

i fell in love with them at the sandwich shop.

they LOVE each other.

eric and nancy got married at what use to be the sam houston hotel located behind them. (it’s now the swanky alden hotel). what i really love is”why” her hair was so wind blown. (see last picture)

houston texas - wedding
again, i profess my love for small intimate weddings. nancy and eric had a gorgeous wedding on the veranda at the alden hotel. not only gorgeous, but the sun lit room was filled with their close family and friends to witness such a sweet wedding. i’ll also profess my love for bride and grooms seeing each other before their ceremony. eric, nancy, and I (along with the talented lindsay perry) hit the streets of downtown houston and had a whole hour to just have fun taking photos. there will be more photos from their wedding posted, but i wanted to share all the sweet amazing shots of these two and make them a blog post in their own.
thank you eric and nancy for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day.

right before the black and white image (2 above) a bus very closly zoomed by and created this little gust of wind.
i happen to like the image with the bus too!

christian.

(a very quick moving) gabriel.

eva + frank

i love this picture.

christian, you really are a handsome little man.

i love when my kids do this to me. i call it “smoosh-face” . i’d make a smilicon
“smoosh face” if i could.

handsome

he was so proud when he read the sign. so were we.

i feel it’s worth mentioning that frank is a fireman.

favorite.of.the.day.

and some virtual high fives if you can name the president statues.

houston, texas - family session
i had the JOY of meeting eva, frank, christian, and gabriel. most of the time on family sessions - i usually stick to one location. but something about eva gave me an idea that she could tackle a couple locations– so we did it and i LOVE the images from her session. what a SWEET family. i loved hearing about their family and admired frank for being a fireman + a sahd (stay at home dad). how awesome for eva to persue her career while being an incredible mother to two boys! (you make it look a little too easy!) i enjoyed meeting you guys- you have one incredible family!

come to find out: brett loves photos around trees.

just sweet.

you two are TOO cute.

this one is my favorite of christian. you can tell how much he loves brett by the way he looks at her.

hello beautiful.

i love it.

brett’s pizazz makes me smile.

brett & christian
houston, tx - engagement session
yes, we had as much fun as it looks. brett and christian are an AMAZING couple– and i love how comfortable they are with each other. brett and christian seem to balance each other pretty dang perfectly. and oh, i love how real they are. yes, i know… i take photos of real human beings… but these two are just REAL. and i love that quality in people.
it was so hard to narrow down their images so here is fine sampling of what our evening was like. i’m SO very excited for their wedding this fall and simply can’t wait for the va-va-va-voom bridals coming up with the beautiful brett.
and with us joined ringo star and john lennon.

big brother harrison — deciding.

you may recognize this scarf from HERE.

and HERE.

kelly, and the new man in her life.

league city, tx - newborn session
Just recently I got to post the an amazing maternity session with kelly. i anxiously awaited the news of baby sullivan’s arrival and was so excited to meet the little man behind the belly. what a sweet baby- all he did was sleep. (so dear kelly, i hope he is still a great little sleeper!)
i’ll get to see this little guy, along with his brother harrison in just a few months and eagerly wait to see how much they grow!
That is one wacked-out strawberry.
It is a strawberry, right?
Neat stuff.
creepy conjoined strawberry!
Looks like it grew in outer space with no gravity confinements.
I’ll have to check out blogstomp, thanks!
prettiest mutant strawberry EVER.
@BlogStomp loves you long time.
