    kd_0011.jpg

    a little teaser…

    kd_002.jpg

    kd_003.jpg

    kd_004.jpg

Keri scored. Brandon has been buying her roses ever since their 1 month anniversary!

Months turned into years, so it is only appropriate that it was the only flower used for their wedding day.

    kd_005.jpg

    Keri- is simply stunning.

    kd_006.jpg

    And this is soon-to-be-husband Brandon.

    kd_007.jpg

Glowing and gorgeous- you would never guess that it was literally a bazillion degrees when we took this.

    kd_008.jpg

    This was Keri’s only request:

    kd_010.jpg

    kd_009.jpg

    kd_011.jpg

Quite possibly, the cutest (and cuddly) flower girl on the planet.

(I’ve got to hand it to her… she managed to even arrange her own ride down the aisle ;) )

    kd_012.jpg

    kd_013.jpg

    kd_014.jpg

    kd_015.jpg

It was HOT. I made the guys suffer a bit and took a million photos with their wool jackets on before this one.

    kd_016.jpg

GORGEOUS ladies. 3 out of 6 are newlyweds and they were all in each other’s weddings. Keri is officially a wedding guru.

    kd_017.jpg

    1.2.3eeeeeeeeee!

    kd_018.jpg

I can only imagine what it felt like to go from humidity to cool a/c at this moment!

    kd_019.jpg

Boys will be boys as they venture off to a side room. (otherwise known as the bar.) :D

    kd-sb1.jpg

The last dance of the night.

    kd_022.jpg

    kd_023.jpg

    Spring, Texas

Keri and Brandon are married! It was a hot and humid day in Spring, Texas — but we sure for sure traded the heat as the forecast all week and said rain. Sure enough, not one drop on Keri and Brandon’s wedding day!

Keri is can add experience to her wedding portfolio since she not only was busy planning her own wedding- she was also part of several weddings for her girlfriends just in this summer alone. I can only imagine her closet filled with bridesmaid dresses stacked behind her wedding dress.(Sounds like a movie to me!) But how cool is that?

Stay tuned for their slideshow… oh, and perfectly named “Day” after session!

And this is the cutest, and most handsomest (I know, not a word) little ring bearer. Little Parker apparently looks a LOT like his Uncle Brandon did when he was a little boy. So much that Brandon’s older sister will occasionally slip and call Parker by his Uncle’s name. Cutey Patootey isn’t he?

    kd_024.jpg

    Coolest. Grooms Cake. Ever.

Brandon is a big frisbee golfer so what else would his cake be? Unbelievable believable. Oh, and his cousin made it! She also made adorable bride and groom cookies for the rehearsal dinner. (Those may appear later ;) )

    kd_025.jpg

    :D

this wedding is absolutely beautiful rebecca! i love her dress!

oh and… that ring shot is fab!

i simply ::heart:: your photography, i can only imagine that their wedding album is going to be beautiful!

and btw, look at you sneaking in a little selfy! looks like something this girl i know would do…

happy thursday- perhaps a little sneak peak

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts… big things coming. I had NO idea how much work it involved to relaunch the site and blog. NO IDEA.

But it is all starting to come together and I anticipate sometime this month.

So for now, CLICK HERE for a little teaser.

It’s been almost a year since I started up my business here in Houston and I’ve been on the quest for a designer who I could confidently depend on helping create my overall branding. Scouring logo designers sites I just wasn’t confident that our styles meshed. What a relief when I came across Designs by Taz! I was sold the minute I browsed her blog. I requested to Taz –PLEASE no hearts, no butterflies, — nothing fluffy PLEEEASE.  And this is what she created for me. PERFECT. More than perfect. And oh, there is so much more to come!!

    I {heart} it.

Thank you Taz- you are a gem!

PS. Not photos this time. Just be sure to click those links. ;)

    28. on the 28th. in 2008.

    :D It’s my birthday. :D

    66-51708-edit.jpg

My husband tells me it’s my “golden year” because I am 28, on the 28th of June, in 2008.

My day is filled and I am excited. It’s the first year in a long time that I am celebrating. Nothing big-I’m pretty simple. Starting off with breakfast with my little girls. Then off to the day spa I go for some much needed (quiet ;) ) and well deserved pampering. When I’m done– my husband and I have got a date starting off at Cork Cafe, an amazing coffee-wine bar around the corner from our house. Following the wine will be our usual Toro sushi dining. I’m afraid we are “those” types that are creatures of habit and visit the same restaurant any time we get a kiddo free eating opportunity.

And then…. the BEST part of the day. I get to SLEEP. Oh, glorious sleep. <— I may be celebrating this more then my actual birthday!

I also get to share this day with my best friend. Can you believe we’ve known each other since we were two years old? Talk about a life long friend!

    – HAPPY BIRTHDAY 28th *T*!!! –

    Houston, Texas - Family Session

Sweet Baby Ella has transformed from newborn to precious baby. Ella and I met when she was just a wee baby and some of her photos from that session are still my most favorite images. In just half a year Ella has gone from sleepy newborn to a beautiful, amazing-wide-blue-eyed, smiley little baby. Not a fuss, even with the fact that it was a particularly hot and humid morning in Houston. She just smiled and giggled while we adults melted. Little Baby Ella is just a treat to photograph- gorgeous, it’s hard to imagine how adorable she is going to be as she grows. I can only hope I get to photograph her again. (And again!) ;)

    • chriselda — 6.25.08 (3:34 am)

wow! that last image is … amazing!
this little girl is too cute for words
i’m almost certain one of these photos belongs on a baby food jar or something…

    • Tiffany Izatt — 6.25.08 (4:51 am)

beautiful shoot, what an adorable child, and a beautiful family.

    Back Online

It’s been 3 long days and my main website and blog outage has sure put some wear and tear on this poor photographer.

Cliff Note version: in order to make big changes, it involved getting everything onto one server– and well… it wasn’t as seamless as planned.

THANKFULLY both sites are up and running.

    -and-

THANK YOU to those who have helped (or have listened to me whine) get my website and blog back up for my clients.

    xo,

    rebecca-linh

And because posts without photos are boring– here is something as excruciating as having my websites down.

This is what my car thermometer read (taken from my iPhone). That’s just plain ridiculous.

      bah!
and our bride, melissa, just got back from africa
tell damon that africa temps were at 130+
and she had to wear some drape from the neck to the toe
      ack!
      glad you’re up and running
and if i’m one of those people you need feel you need to thank, no problem. and thanks for listening to MY issues!

    sarka & chester

    Handsome sweet little Chester!

    sp_01.jpg

He needed some time to decide. :)

    sp_02.jpg

So we took a little walk. Chester took the lead.

    - One of my FAVORITES! -

    sp_07.jpg

Um- love this one too!! I tend to bring out the tongues. ;)

    sp_03.jpg

Nothing like mom tossing you around….

    sp_04.jpg

    again… the tongue! (another favorite!!!)

    sp_06.jpg

And of course being thrown around can make a little man thirsty. Seriously- Chester had his own glass for water! Soooo adorable to watch him act so grown up!

    posey-1-cropped.jpg

    sp_11.jpg

Looks like mischief to me. (One word Sarka- Bananas!)

    Lsp_12.jpg

Ahhh- yet another favorite. LOVE IT!

    sp_13.jpg

    Houston, TX - Family Session

It was a hot and HUMID morning in Houston– with no “early bird gets the worm” reprieve… even at 9am. Thankfully Sarka knew of hilly park that created a nice breeze to slightly cool us off while we roamed around. Just a little over a year this little one kept me intrigued with how “grown up” he was. Chester lead the way most the morning as we braved the heat. Sarka and I found comfort in each other when we discovered our love for Southern California beaches, Texas men, and shared distaste in any toy that requires batteries. I’m square and have a love affair for timeless and classic wood toys. Actually anything that doesn’t make electronic noise suits my fancy. My kids can thank me later. :)

:D Thanks for enduring the Texas heat! :D

PS. And Thanks for all those guesses to the previous post! Christy was the $10 iTunes winner for the correct answer.

4105 was my street address to my childhood home.

    • chriselda — 6.10.08 (2:53 am)

      that first image?!
      holy bokeh! that is beautiful!!!!
this whole session is super stinkin’ cute!
i love the ones of mom playing with Chester!!!

    • Clydell May — 6.11.08 (1:52 am)

Indeed, a beautiful little boy you have! Love those hugh happy eyes! You and Sarka are very blessed as I know your recognize. Thanks so much for sharing, Tom.
      Love, Clydell

    • Christy — 6.11.08 (4:33 pm)

Gorgeous! I love him going up the steps and the mischievous face. What a sweet boy and kudos to you for surviving the heat… a sign of things to come for the summer? eek.

    • Zhenia — 6.12.08 (2:41 am)

Fantastic photography! One of the best that I’ve seen! Very creative and just plain talanted! Chester is adorable in every photo. Sarka - you look fantastic! Every picture is unique in its own way. Love it, love it, love it!!! Thank you for sharing.

    • Carol Ann Paddock — 6.12.08 (2:56 pm)

Chester is one of the most handsome boys I have every seen. So grown up for a one year old. I see Mama Sue in those eyes. Can’t wait for him to play with his very blond cousin Luke.

      Thanks for sharing.

    • Karen Weber — 6.12.08 (7:23 pm)

Loved getting a glimpse of Chester at play What a cutie and looks like he might have some mischief in him. Fabulous shots that will keep such sweet memories always. Karen

    • Armin — 6.15.08 (5:34 pm)

The stairs shot is definitely my fav! Fun times!

    • Tiffany Izatt — 6.25.08 (4:53 am)

what an adorable child, i love his mischief face.

    happy thursday - low life.

Admittedly- I have no idea what the event listed is, but as I was going through images today I noticed today’s date on the flyer.

    060208edited_21-edit.jpg

Totally random sticker on a pole. I’m hanging this in my office. :)

    060208edited_09-edit.jpg

Anybody care to guess the significant meaning in the image below?

Leave your guesses in the comments- first person to get it right will receive $10 in iTunes. :)

    :)

    060208edited_25-edit.jpg

The fine print: those who know me *personally* are excluded from guessing. :) (gotta be fair)

    • chipgillespie — 6.5.08 (11:08 pm)

The April tenth birthday of a [your] 3-year-old?

      What do I win?!? : )

    • chipgillespie — 6.5.08 (11:08 pm)

      (or perhaps a wedding anniversary??)

    • B.c. — 6.6.08 (6:07 am)

Do we count as knowing you “personally”? Never mind, don’t answer that. But FINE…I’ll post my ideas here instead of just on Face.

First idea: is April Fool’s Day one of your girls’ birthdays? Or, if you’re feeling European, perhaps it’s 4th October 2005? Maybe some other date of significance….somewhere on earth?

Here’s another idea: http://4105.eu. OK, so it’s fairly unlikely that you’re pushing a Polish architectural firm, but it’s not a bad site. And here I thought that most of the buildings in Warsaw looked like a Gotham movie set….

    • *r-lr — 6.6.08 (1:53 pm)

cold. cold. and coooooooold. It’s cold in Poland right?? ;)

    • betsy — 6.6.08 (5:34 pm)

      Ooh, is it a child’s birthday? Mine is 4-1-….definitly not 05! ; )

    • Christy-MonteMama — 6.6.08 (6:15 pm)

No idea… I even tried googling “4105″ and “Poland” and alas, nada… man, I hate when I can’t win even if I cheat.

      Love the pics, though.

    • *r-lr — 6.6.08 (9:17 pm)

      fa-fa-fa- fareeeeeeeezing.
wow- i honestly didn’t think it was *that* tricky. :D

    • Christy-MonteMama — 6.7.08 (1:40 am)

ummm - your street address? You used to spend 4 hours on route 105?

    • *r-lr — 6.8.08 (3:22 pm)

it’s getting warmer in here. :)

    • Christy — 6.8.08 (4:33 pm)

street address you grew up on?

    • Tamara Sierra — 6.10.08 (1:51 am)

Good guesses! One of you was very close. Being her childhood BF I knew it right away, Hint Hint. My lips are sealed

    • *r-lr — 6.10.08 (2:14 am)

      YEAH! WIIIIIIIIIIIINER!
To Christy! 4105 was my street address growing up. My mom still lives there. :D … and Tamara Sierra was 4109 :D

    the daily grind

    060208edited_11-edit.jpg

The Daily Grind…. Oh, how it is so easy to fall into.
As I was leaving yesterday morning’s photos session I cruised by what seemed like an old, vacant building. I made a u-turn and stopped because the “The Daily Grind” sign along with the building seemed like a fun place to shoot- and to my surprise it was a full up and running restaurant. If you know me- you know that I just can’t resist my coffee. And since my usual morning dosage was cut short because of the early morning session I was in the need for a caffeinated kick. As I ordered my usually iced, soy, vanilla latte- I couldn’t help but be consumed by the quirkiness of The Daily Grind. The nooks and crannies were filled with the most random and unusual trinkets, faucets, and other random items. I’m sure if you were to visit there once a week you would for sure find something new you hadn’t spotted before.
My drink was up at the bar served in a glass. A glass. I guess I hadn’t mentioned I wanted it “to go”… but as I prepared to ask for a to-go cup I stopped and asked myself—“What’s the rush?” My usual outings (if I am not shooting) are generally hovered over two very ambitious little girls and continuously saying, “We’re almost done… Please don’t touch… Please sit still…” Not by any means relaxing.
So I picked up my glass, planted myself in a central location to people watch- and relaxed. It wasn’t silent but to not be consumed in any thoughts, or involved in any conversation was refreshing. What a precious moment for me as my usually daily grind is never (ever) spent alone. The moment really reminded how important it is to really do “something” on my own accord- even if it is only for a short while.
As I finished my glass of heaven I couldn’t resist roaming around the surrounding area of the building. Again, this marked another unusual moment where it was just my camera and I. To shoot for fun- without purpose other than my own was a real treat.

    Just what the doctor ordered:

Complex and Subtle … the names seems to fit.

This is right down the street from Matt’s work, you know. One of his favorites… Oh, our intertwining lives. :)

    • James Christianson — 6.4.08 (1:49 pm)

rebecca, thanks for sharing your morning. it’s always great to remember to slooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww down. great detail shots…you have a gift.

    • Jill — 6.4.08 (6:04 pm)

      Awesome, as always!!

    • Christy-MonteMama — 6.4.08 (6:30 pm)

I love them. Great storytelling through pictures and even better with the extra context you’ve provided. My favorite is the Katz Coffee sign one, with the glass shot a close second.

    • Craig d — 6.5.08 (5:52 pm)

Rebecca- thank you so much for the comment you left me this week. I have to tell you that I just spent the last 40 minutes looking at your work. You are ridiculously talented. I would love to grab some of that delicious caffeinated kick with you sometime. Pop me an email sometime and let’s grab some Joe.

    • *nudrat* — 6.5.08 (8:02 pm)

I really like these pictures, the PP is clean and clear, just perfect. Very rustic.

    perhaps i can explain…

    01-578.jpg

Perhaps I could explain. ? Big things are going on over here. BIG.

I haven’t fallen off the earth or anything. And have no fear— there will be plenty to blog from this point on.
As I follow other photographer’s blogs you see statements of teasers that state there will be new and exciting things to come. And those statements can go on for days/months before they actually follow through. As a blog follower you sit there on the edge of your rss feed, in anticipation and wonder, “What?!?- Tell us already!!” and then you see the gorgeous new changes to their sites, logos, blogs, etc. in awe and admiration.

When I launched my new blog with flosites I got a sweet taste of what it was like to be on the opposite side of the anticipation. It was the realization that there is a lot of time involved on the back end of this business. It’s not only on my schedule; it is also the time communicating these changes to professionals that know how to artistically create what you are envisioning for yourself. So sometimes I myself get to be on the waiting list of my own anticipated hype
And though my blog was only re-launched at the beginning of this year I have had an itch to fine-tune many more aspects of my photography business. So that is exactly what has been going on.

Aside from changes, I am pleased to announce to my clients new and exciting products in the very near future. I am a huge stickler for high quality products- so before I introduce anything to my clients I am always the first to sample and inspect each and every product. So the last month has been filled with testing new labs, creating amazing albums, experimenting with several types of wall art – all new items to roll out really soon.

Stepping into these changes I did have an idea that the process would not be a short one, and made a conscious decision to take a couple weeks of not accepting sessions in order to commit my time to this as along with getting completely 100% caught up with my current clients which feels fantastic.

And no, my cameras were not collecting dust during this break. I did get extra time to shoot the two cutest, most adorable kids on the planet- my two little girls Jade and Aja. Yes, I know, they ARE completely different in every aspect!

So as the teasers go- there are so many new and exciting changes that will be going. I honestly cannot wait to share them with you.
Thanks for your continued support and please subscribe to the RSS feed so you won’t miss anything “new” ;)

My absolute FAVORITE FAVORITE FAVORITE!!!! The term “doll baby” comes to mind.

    rc_15-edit.jpg

    Houston, Texas – Family Session

Little Sarah just turned one year old! To mark the event, her mother Rolita had me come do some portraits as well as shoot Sarah’s 1 year birthday bash. Clever lady eh? She actually got to enjoy the whirlwind of festivities…

Sarah is such a cutie pie. Decisive on who to be nice to (and she has every right to!)- Mommy seems to be numero uno in her book so I was extremely honored that she smiled away for me. I was also told that little Mr. Kyle is a little shy around the camera. They were right- but- Kyle seemed to warm up to me by the end of the session. It may have helped that I hijacked is Cars fruit snacks and kept them as my possession. ? There is absolutely nothing wrong about positive incentives are there?? Kids are so funny like that. If only fruit snacks could make everybody so happy. Kyle would sound off a “Vroom”, perform a “vroom like” motion with his fruit snack and then gobble the car up. What made this even more adorable is that he did it with every singe fruit snack!

Rolita and David are busy parents! They are the dynamic due owners and being the head chef of the Redfish Seafood Grill here in Houston. If there is anybody who can recognize how crazy-busy the restaurant industry is, I for sure can, as I am a chef’s wife. ;) ;) I am amazed at how effortlessly they pull off working together and being amazing parents. It was a pleasure meeting you guys- I SO can’t wait to visit the restaurant!

    Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!

Rebecca, These are absolutely amazing! We just love them - the color, the background, the position, the livelihood… You make it seems effortless! You have really captured the spirit of Sarah and Kyle! You are also very observing and are great with children! You definitely have the Artist eyes, seeing things that we don’t see - the simple beauty! You are really great with what you do and you will definitely see a lot more of us!

      With much appreciation,
      Rolita
